I’m trying to understand how if a property is leaned against how it’s sold to another without having to pay the lien.

Will have to make major investments such as a water well costing 12-15 thousand, electrical $10-12 thousands and septics $5-6 thousands in all close to $30,000 and you’re paying just for the land less than $10,000 .
Ancillary costs are always a part of buying property if you plan to live there.

There's a an empty large space in Denver I want to build on but there's no address it's unowned and not a sign of ownership on it. Should I go ahead and call a land dealer for it?
I know there are a few websites out there that will show you parcel information for free. It's unlikely that it's unowned, but can't hurt to look!

Whats the point 9f buying land when you need hundreds of thousand dollar to build home in it?
Sound investment would be top of my list. Land appreciates at a higher rate than built-up land. That's just one reason of many!
